  • Incoming Snowy Egret.
  • Snowy Egret
  • Even more sticks for the nest. There are three chicks here and we thought the one laying down was dead as it didn't move for a very long time. But I have a later photo of it sticking its head up.
  • Roseate Spoonbill.
  • We are told that the birds like to nest here because the small island they are on is protected by alligators. Varmints cannot easily get to the island as there are lots of these guys patrolling.
  • It's my turn for dinner!
  • Squawk! Note the eggs in the nest.
  • Off to hunt for more sticks. Or food.
  • Great Egret
  • Black Necked Stilt at Anahuac NWR
  • Green Heron, Anahuac NWR
