Photos from the 2012 eXtreme Hummingbird eXtravagana (XHX), Lake Jackson, TX - Mom M adopts a hummingbird; a very nice, male Ruby-Throated Hummingbird. And a few other photos from the day.

The event is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Birding Observatory and is held annually during the fall migration of hummingbirds.

  • Oops.  The decision is made to refuel.  Apparently hummingbirds are like humans.  They like to rest after eating.  So he gets another feeding in the hopes it will calm him down so Laura can get a few seconds to hold him.
